“They say timing is everything. My husband and I had the daunting task of relocating back to Texas from California in May 2020 during the onset of the pandemic. At the same time, we were fortunate to have the opportunity to custom build a modern farmhouse in the Texas Hill Country area. As two working professionals with this incredible chance to build the house of our dreams, the partners we engaged along the journey were our life line — and Karissa Mae Wade is certainly at the front of that group of incredibly talented professionals.   As an interior design consultant, Karissa is very experienced and has a strong and beautiful design eye and aestetic. She also completely optimizes and understands the importance of flow and function. But while incredibly valuable, these are not the qualities that endeared her to us most. When building a custom home, there are what seems like a million decisions to make and it is so easy to become overwhelmed and start to lose focus of your desired result. Karissa has incredible listening skills and also asks great questions that help guide you through each stage of the decision making process and also continue to refine and sharpen your vision of all that your home could be. She has a skilled eye for color, texture and touch points to create special ‘moments’ in the home that are tailored to the clients and how they live. Additionally, because of her passion for her work and ability to make connections, she has a large network of craftsmen and vendors to help fulfill her client’s every need.   Now that the design consulting ‘job’ is complete, we simply consider Karissa to be a talented friend, who is part of our extended family - and who helped ensure our custom house would be the home of our dreams!
